NordicTrack CX 1055 Elliptical
The Nordictrack 1055 elliptical is the top of the line Nordictrack on the market at the moment.
It’s a decent machine that, like all Nordictrack ellipticals, has a lot of features for the money, but falls short when compared against the tougher competition in this price range, namely the Smooth Elliptical and Sole e35 Elliptical.
The 1055 is a definite upgrade from the 998, with the addition of a much better console, 9 more workouts and a new stride orbit which Nordictrack calls ‘stride thru’ (whatever the heck that means, just a fancy name).
Does the 1055 warrant the additional investment above the Nordictrack 998, or should you spend a few bucks more and get a better machine from Smooth or Sole?…
Key Specs on the Nordictrack CX 1055 Elliptical:
- Power Incline Ramp
- Silent Magnetic Resistance
- 19 Workout Programs
- EKG Heart Rate Monitor
- iFIT Compatible
- 18″ stride length
Having the additional workouts and larger better console than the CX 998 elliptical is nice at first glance, but will quickly lose its’ charm and won’t really effect how well you can workout on the machine.
Plus the 1055 and 998 both have iFit, so that’s a wash. I just don’t see why you would spend the extra $200 bucks for it?
Now the question is, should you increase your budget and look at club quality model like theĀ Sole e35 Elliptical?
I think you should, they’re better machines for the money. There’s no point getting an elliptical trainer that’s almost the one you want, then suffer from buyer’s remorse for the next 6 months.
