The Smooth CE 3.2 Elliptical is the mid level Smooth elliptical machine and sits above the Smooth CE elliptical and below the Smooth CE 3.6 and Smooth CE 7.4 elliptical in the model lineup… (compare to similar model Sole E35 elliptical and Sole E95 ellipticals).
OK, you know by now that I like the Smooth CE Elliptical as you probably read in my review. So what do I think of the Smooth CE 3.2 model you ask?
I think the 3.2 elliptical is a nice, and worthy, upgrade over the CE for a number of reasons I’ll cover now.
Both the 3.2 and CE ellipticals have eddy current breaking, a heavy flywheel, the patented foot pedals and a strong frame, but what sets the Smooth 3.2 apart from the 2.1 is a few extra goodies that I consider ‘must haves’ in a mid level elliptical.
Smooth CE 3.2 Elliptical Key Benefits and Specs
- Nine Programmable User Profiles
- Wireless Heart Rate Monitor
- Upgraded LCD Display w/ Dot Matrix
- Electromagnetic Braking System
- Heavy Gauge Oval Steel Frame
- Nine Challenging Preset Programs
- Sixteen Resistance Levels for forward and reverse motion
- Tilt and Go Wheels for easy mobility
- Ergonomic, Pivoting Foot Pedals
- 300 Pound User Weight Capacity
- Lifetime Frame and Electromagnetic Brake warranty
The three upgrades on the Smooth 3.2 that make it a better value than the Smooth CE are as follows:
(1) There are 9 programmable profiles you can set up on the 3.2. What this means is you can pre-program a specific workout in 9 locations, then hop on the machine and push a button to get started. Now that’s convenient!
(2) In any elliptical in this price range, I consider having wireless heart rate control a necessity. The Smooth 3.2 has wireless heart rate control, where the 2.1 does not.
(3) The Smooth 3.2 display console makes tracking of your workout easier due to the larger LCD console that’s built into the machine.
The Smooth 3.2 is a great value in this price range, and definitely a worthy upgrade over a very good Smooth 2.1 elliptical.
